My friend Annie used to live in Austin and I visited her with a group of friends for Austin City Limits in 2016.
I’d been to Austin a few times before, but admit it’s the first city where I had to stop making the food map because there were too many delicious, locally-sourced, affordable options with good vibes and All of the Things. Too many unicorns.
Whip In: Public House & Curry Lounge
Built in an old gas station, this place has an enormous gorgeous patio, a flippin huge beer selection, fantastic fresh from-scratch food.
Easy Tiger Bakery & Beer Garden
Drink beer, play ping pong next to the river, eat fresh baked goods and german food that’s also fresh-baked like pretzels and sausages on fresh-baked buns. Pretty lights, delicious food, good beer, and ping pong. And a big green wall. Feels like a magical little secret garden.
